About Haverford Township Little League
Haverford Township Little League was founded in 1959 as the only official Little League affiliated youth baseball program in Haverford Township. Our objectives is to implant firmly in the youth of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and reverence so that they may be finer, stronger and happier individuals and will grow to be good, healthy, caring adults. These objectives are achieved by providing supervised competitive baseball games and practices. The supervisors always bear in mind that the attainment of exceptional athletic skills is secondary and the molding of future men and women is of prime importance.
Haverford Township Little League offers baseball divisions from the T-Ball Division to the 50/70 Baseball Division, accommodating boys and girls from ages 5-13. The playing season is from late March through mid-June (depending upon the division and level of play). Please see our division descriptions for more information about each division.
Haverford Township Little League also offers the opportunity for exceptionally skilled players to join our tournament teams for post-season play. HTLL has 6 age groups for tournament teams, with some age groups fielding more than one team. Our 11/12 Year Old tournament team completes at the Little League "Majors" level in District 19 and is eligible to advance to the Little League World Series.
About Little League
Little League Baseball® was founded in 1939, and is the world's first community-based, volunteer-operated youth sports program. The inaugural Little League® season was played in Williamsport, Pa., and since that fateful year, countless neighborhoods and tens of millions of children and volunteers have proudly been members of the program.
The Little League Baseball® program includes divisions for all children, ages 4–16 (ages 5-13 at HTLL). In addition to practicing on-field fundamentals and the excitement of playing games in a competitive environment, Little League Baseball pridefully enlists the sport to strengthen its participants’ self-esteem and confidence.
Regardless of physical size, skill, strength, gender, religion, or nationality, Little League Baseball offers the opportunity for a child to experience and benefit from the life lessons, socialization, and camaraderie that are the cornerstones of the program.
